Upper West Side Falafel was founded in Istanbul in 2011. Initially, the company operated exclusively by selling falafel in restaurants. In 2014, it expanded into the wholesale market in Turkey and experienced rapid growth. Quickly recognized and preferred by the vegan consumer segment, Upper West Side Falafel has also established a presence in major retail chains such as Metro Grossmarket, Carrefour, and File.
The company produces its own chickpeas, which provides a cost advantage and allows it to maintain a competitive price-performance ratio in the Turkish market. Currently, in collaboration with one of Istanbul’s largest distributors, Gıdaşer, the company supplies frozen falafel products throughout Istanbul and across Turkey. In addition, it reaches flavor enthusiasts nationwide through an extensive dealer network.
Upper West Side Falafel collaborates with the nationally recognized Big Chefs restaurant chain on special recipes and is preparing to launch significant projects at tourist facilities along Turkey’s famous coastlines. With these goals, the brand aims to increase its visibility within the tourism sector and holiday destinations.
The company does not plan to remain limited to Turkey and intends to enter the European market in the near future. Preparations are underway to reach vegan and vegetarian consumers in countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, and France. By establishing a strong distribution network in Europe, the brand aims to become a leading player in these markets.
The company’s monthly production capacity is approximately 40 tons, which can be flexibly increased to meet rising demand.
Produced in the traditional Lebanese style, the falafel is rich in fresh greens, offering consumers an authentic street food experience. This unique taste has made Upper West Side Falafel one of Turkey’s most beloved vegan brands.
